Designing Memory: From Vision to Reality | Gallery talk

Since 1997, the ALA - Assoarchitetti (Italian Association for Architects) has held a biennial international competition, “Dedalo Minosse”, which examines cooperation between architect and client and the process of turning vision into reality through architecture.

The first prize in the competition in 2019 was awarded to the National Memorial Hall for Israel’s Fallen on Mt. Herzl, designed by Kimmel Eshkolot Architects in cooperation with Kalush Chechick Architects.

The design of the National Memorial Hall allows a personal as well as a collective experience of remembrance and is a unique building because it memorializes all the fallen of Israel’s forces on its walls. The new exhibition at the museum presents the design process of the National Memorial Hall on Mt. Herzl through a series of photographs and video presentations showcasing the stages of planning and construction.
